Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani on Wednesday drove to Tihar jail and is understood to have assured all legal help to his two top executives who are in judicial custody in connection with their alleged role in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

Mr. Ambani spent nearly half an hour in Jail No. 3 where Mr. Gautam Doshi and Mr. Hari Nair have been lodged since April 17, after their bail plea were rejected by a special CBI court.

Sources said during the meeting he reportedly assured the officials that he will try his best to get them all possible legal help to come clean on the allegations of corruption in the case.

Three top officials of Reliance ADA Group - Mr. Gautam Doshi (the company’s Managing Director), Mr. Surendra Pipara and Mr. Hari Nair have been accused of conspiracy and abetment to cheating in the 2G scam.

“Ambani was here at five in the evening. He had asked for permission to meet Gautam Doshi and Hari Nair, two of his company executives now lodged with us and we gave him a go ahead,” Neeraj Kumar, DG Tihar Prisons, said.

“He could not meet Surendra Pipara as he is now undergoing treatment at AIIMS,” he added.

Sources said that after meeting the two executives Mr. Ambani went to AIIMS to meet Mr. Pipara.

The three officials have spent 55 days in jail.
