The YSR Congress Party is going to move no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government on March 21 with or without the support of Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan, said party official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Mr. Rambabu said that the party MPs, whose number in the Lok Sabha has come down to five after defections to the TDP, would lobby for 15 days and then move the motion.
Mr. Rambabu clarified that Mr. Jagan had never challenged Mr. Pawan Kalyan to move the motion. Whatever might be Mr. Kalyan’s intention behind the demand, Mr. Jagan took it in the proper spirit and asked the former to convince the TDP to move the motion. Mr. Jagan had only said the task of prevailing on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu might prove too big for Mr. Kalyan, he explained.
YSR Congress MP Y.V. Subba Reddy was going to give a notice under Rule 184 of the Rules and Procedures and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha on Special Category Status (SCS) and implementation of various provisions of the A.P. Reorganisation Act, he announced.
‘Let’s fight together’
Meanwhile, senior party leader Botcha Satyanarayana asked Mr. Kalyan to prevail on the TDP to either move a no-confidence motion or support the one moved by the YSRCP.
Addressing the media at the State office here, Mr. Satyanarayana said if Mr. Kalyan had the slightest of sincerity over achieving Special Category Status for A.P., he should ask the TDP to extend support to the motion moved by the YSRCP. He said all parties should come together to fight for SCS.
