YSR Congress party (YSRCP) members led by local MPTC's husband attacked TDP leader Gutti Prasada Rao with knife while he was returning home at Pittallanka village of Koduru mandal in Krishna district on Saturday morning.
Police suspect political ideology differences between the members of TDP and YSRCP as the reason behind the attack.
According to the FIR registered by the Koduru police, Mr. Prasada Rao was attacked by a group of four persons led by YSRCP leader B. Nagaraju. Mr. Nagaraju is husband of Pittallanka MPTC B. Adilaxmi. The attackers stabbed the victim with knife, causing severe damage to the intestines.
The police rushed to the spot and admitted the victim to government hospital in Avanigadda. “The doctors confirmed that the health condition of the victim is stable and out of danger. The doctors referred the victim to admit in Government Hospital, Machilipatnam for better treatment”, Avanigadda Deputy Superintendent of Police Y. Srinivasa Rao told The Hindu . The police also deployed special teams at Pittallanka village to prevent further clashes.
The four accused in the case are absconding and the search in on, police said.
