The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday charged the YSRC with withdrawing from Lok Sabha its notice for no confidence motion at a crucial juncture when it was to be taken up for voting.
Rajya Sabha member C. M. Ramesh released details of these notices till December 18, 2012 which clearly showed that the YSRC MPs, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and M. Raja Mohan Reddy suddenly withdrew their notice on December 18 just when the Lok Sabha was to take it up for voting for which TDP worked hard to get the support of more than 50 MPs, he said.
The TDP and Congress MPs kept up the pressure by submitting the no trust notices on December 9, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 18 and staging protests, while YSRC MPs did nothing except talking big and hitting the road.
‘Distorting facts’ YSR Congress leader, M. V. Mysoora Reddy brushed aside the allegation and said the TDP was deliberately distorting facts to gain political mileage.
She said the party had given notice on seven of the eight working days of the Parliament and “when the Lok Pal Bill was to be discussed, we told the Speaker to post our notice to the next day but the House was adjourned sine die after passing the Bill”.
He said his party had given the notice only to show to the world that members of the Congress itself have no confidence on their party. “We wanted to highlight that point and extended support by giving the notice on all days despite the busy schedule of Mr. Jagan.
