Revanth Reddy questions presence of Congress leaders at the release of book on YSR
Telugu Desam on Friday said the presence of ‘galaxy’ of the Congress leaders at the release of a book on former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in Delhi, shows that the YSR Congress would merge with the ‘parent’ national party soon.
Addressing a press conference, TDP MLA and spokesman A. Revanth Reddy said, the event was a clear indication of the patch up between the two parties facilitated by the ‘author’ of the book and Rajya Sabha member K.V.P. Ramchandra Rao. Otherwise, there was no reason for so many Congress leaders and State Ministers to attend such a meeting, he said. The book itself was hurriedly brought out three years after Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy’s tragic end.
“It is matter of time before YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy walks out of the jail and goes straight to Janpath to meet AICC president Sonia Gandhi and announce winding up of his party,” Mr. Revanth Reddy said. The road map for merger was laid after Sushil Kumar Shinde became the Union Home Minister, he alleged.
It shows that YSRC honorary president Vijayamma has been working behind the scenes for a compromise with the Congress, he alleged and added that she had refrained from staging any protest demanding a through inquiry into Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy’s death.
Meanwhile, Vijayamma in a statement denied reports that YSRC would be merged with Congress.
