Ch. Adinarayana Reddy, YSRC MLA of Jammalamadugu, who has been staying away from party meetings for quite a few months, wants YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy to be receptive to suggestions of party leaders and bring in changes in the party’s style of functioning, to effectively counter the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
Mr. Adinarayana Reddy, who was thrice elected from Jammalamadugu, said he gave some suggestions to Mr. Jagan to make the party pro-active and hoped that he would pay attention to them. The ruling party was cancelling fair price shop dealerships, using the police to foist cases against YSRC leaders and functionaries and resorting to coercive acts to demoralise the YSRC cadre, he said. The party should form committees with retired journalists, advocates and retired IAS officers who can give vital suggestions to counter the TDP, he said.
Admitting that he had been staying away from the party leadership and party meetings for a few months, the MLA said he had been spending most of the time in Delhi owing to case trials in the Supreme Court. Referring to speculation that he was making attempts to join the BJP, Mr. Adinarayana Reddy maintained that he would not quit the YSRC and ruled out plans of switching over to any other party.
