YSRC leader injured in attack by TDP men

Former sarpanch of Lakshmipet in Chapadu mandal and YSR Congress leader Karnati Narayana Reddy sustained head injuries when he was allegedly attacked by Telugu Desam Party functionaries around Saturday midnight.

Narayana Reddy was accosted by TDP members and attacked while he was returning home from Veerabhadrapuram in Chapadu mandal.

Chapadu police registered a case and shifted him to Proddatur Government hospital.

TDP agent kidnapped

Meanwhile, a TDP polling agent, Mallam Gopal, was allegedly kidnapped by YSR Congress leader Raghurami Reddy and followers in Thippireddipalle village in Chapadu mandal on Saturday night, according to a complaint lodged with the police by his brother Venugopal.

TDP mandal unit president A. Sudhakar alleged that TDP agents and activists were being threatened by political rivals. Police took into custody Raja Yadav, a YSRC agent of Nakkaladinne. Resenting the kidnap, TDP leaders Putta Sudhakar Yadav and Redyam Venkatasubba Reddy staged dharna before Chapadu police station demanding stern action against those responsible.
