YSRC accuses CM of hoodwinking farmers

November 13, 2014 08:10 pm | Updated 08:10 pm IST - CHITTOOR:

YSR Congress leaders from the district on Thursday accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of hoodwinking farmers and woman SHGs by making false promises.

Speaking to the media here, G.D. Nellore MLA and YSRC district president Kalattur Narayanaswamy and district mahila wing president P.V. Gayatri Devi said that the Telugu Desam government decision of putting a ceiling on the crop loans waiver and DWCRA loans was unfortunate.

In addition to announcing a cap on loan waiver, the Chief Minister was reluctant to clear the air over the time schedule for implementation of the scheme. Farmers and women groups were disillusioned with the TDP government, while youth had lost hopes of employment generation, they alleged.

The YSRC leaders further criticised the State government for ‘encouraging consumption of liquor by seeking more flexible methods in the place of belt shops. “We have lined up a series of agitations to expose the TDP government,” they said.

The party leaders announced the list of functionaries of the district committee and allied wings on the occasion.
