Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has hinted that the maiden expansion of his Cabinet will take place sometime in November.

“Expansion will certainly be there,” he said in reply to a question at an informal chat with journalists in the Assembly on Tuesday.

“The first review of the Ministers’ performance will be done after three months. The detailed review of their functioning is usually done after six months,” he said.

“In all probability, the expansion will take place in November," he remarked. He expressed satisfaction over the performance of his Ministers.

Dr. Reddy said he had to appraise the high command about the expansion. "The high command has reposed so much of confidence on our State," he said, adding his party was trying its best to improve the tally of 33 MPs.

The Chief Minister said the Congress could have improved its tally in the Lok Sabha, if little more efforts had been paid in Chittor, Narsaraopet, Hindupur, Medak, Machilipatnam and Mahabubnagar parliamentary constituencies. “We want the Congress party to reach the magic figure of 273 in the Lok Sabha by next elections," he said.
