YSR Congress rejects land pooling policy

December 09, 2014 11:54 pm | Updated 11:54 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Accusing the State Government of turning capital formation into a mercantile activity, YSR Congress party on Tuesday said it was rejecting the land pooling policy.

The spokesperson of YSR Congress, Dharmana Prasada Rao said his party would oppose tooth and nail any such move that lacks transparency, legal sanctity and promotes commercial interests, leaving the farmers in the lurch.

He said YSR CP’s stand that the capital formation issue was only to benefit the inner circle of TDP leadership was vindicated with the State Government announcing that two private companies would be taking up the building of the capital.

Meanwhile, President of YSR Congress Party and Leader of Opposition in Assembly, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to place in the upcoming Assembly session the details of actual receipts and expenditure for the eight-month period from April to November.

In a letter to Mr. Naidu, he said “we need information on various subjects” for a meaningful discussion in the Assembly. He said the Union Government places on their ministerial websites up to date information on various subjects. Now that the entire accounting system is computerised, there should be no problem to provide item-wise details on tax and non-tax revenues, net loans raised, non-debt receipts, revenue deficit, fiscal deficit and also actual expenditure incurred on plan and non-plan expenditure till November 2014.

He also sought information on other issues, including tuition fee reimbursement scheme, number of houses taken up for weaker sections, number of pensioners deleted from June this year, MNREGA programme and detailed status report on Hudhud cyclone.
