An Intermediate student, Papana Pavan Kumar (17), was allegedly stabbed to death by his relatives at Polavaram in Krishna district on Wednesday. Pavan’s parents - P. Vara Prasad and Venkataramana - suffered injuries in the scuffle. They were admitted to a hospital at Nuzvid where their condition was stated to be critical.

According to Chatrai Sub-Inspector S. Parameshwar, Vara Prasad and his brother P. Satyanarayana had a dispute over sharing a piece of land in Chatrai mandal. The members of the two families entered into a quarrel at the fields. In a fit of rage, Satyanarayana, his wife Seeta Mahalakshmi and son Kalyan Kumar allegedly attacked Pavan and his parents with a sickle, killing the youth on the spot. The body was sent to government hospital mortuary for post-mortem. A hunt is on to nab the accused, the Sub-Inspector said.
