Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said legendary actor and Telugu Desam founder N.T. Rama Rao would remain the permanent guiding force for the party and asked the TD cadres to strive hard to realise his dream of achieving social justice by bridging the gap between the haves and have-nots.

He made a brief speech during his visit to the newly-opened office of the party in the city. Mr. Naidu who spent 30 minutes at the party office built at a cost of around Rs.5 crore in an area of 2,000 square yards unveiled the bronze statue of NTR on the occasion of his 95th birth anniversary amid ‘NTR johar’ slogans by the party activists.

Mr. Naidu pepped up the spirit of the party rank and file by asking them to work hard for strengthening the party at the grassroots, vouch the cause of the common man and ensure implementation of various welfare measures effectively. He along with other leaders garlanded the portrait of NTR at Andhra University Engineering College grounds, where the second day of three-day Mahanadu, the annual conference of the party, was in progress.

The Chief Minister said the party was committed to recognise all the sincere workers in some form or the other and came down on the Opposition mainly the YSR Congress for indulging false propaganda on the TD Government.

Pro-Lokesh slogans

He advised the partymen to make use of the excellent facilities available at the new office, which was inaugurated sometime ago by his son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

Mr. Naidu also complimented MLC and educationist M.V.V.S. Murthi and Nagabhushan for their contribution in building the new building in a posh area.

Pro-Lokesh slogans rented the air when the Chief Minister’s son emerged out from the party office in an open-top vehicle. Several activists also mobbed him on arrival and took selfies with him.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu honoured sculpture and fine arts professor of Andhra University Ravi Shankar Patnaik for sculpting the statue of party founder.

Mr. Patnaik said the statue made by him and his wife Sandhya had a height of 10 ft. and three inches. He said it took them three months to complete the job.
