Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna on Thursday said he will not contest elections but will campaign for his party TDP in Telangana.

“As of now, I have not thought of contesting elections. However, I will rethink my stand in case the high command directs me (to fight polls),” he said.

The 53-year-old actor—politician said he will campaign for the TDP in Telangana and strengthen the party in the region, which will become a State on June 2, 2014.

Andhra Pradesh will vote in two phases (April 30 and May 7) for Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, which will be held simultaneously.
