Woman gets Arogyasri certificate after MP’s intervention

June 19, 2014 02:29 am | Updated 02:29 am IST - ELURU:

Following the allegation of red tape by the officials at the district Collectorate, TDP MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) Wednesday visited the premises. He encountered a woman, Ravi Jaya, from Narsapur who was reportedly running from pillar to post to obtain a clearance certificate from the authorities for treatment of her son, a blood cancer patient, under the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme.

She complained to Mr. Babu that she had been making rounds of the Collectorate for the certificate for the last two days, but her efforts went in vain. The MP brought the woman’s plight to the notice of Collector Siddharth Jain with a request to look into the grievance.

At last, Ms. Jaya got the certificate after the MP’s intervention. The MP asked the officials to shed the laxity and red tape and get into work.

“Our State is in a critical position after the bifurcation. It is time for everybody to rebuild it from scratches with dedication and hard work,” he observed while urging the government employees to join hands with the government to carry out the mission.
