December 30, 2012 02:47 am | Updated 03:08 am IST - NANDIVADA (KRISHNA DIST.):

A Village Revenue Officer (VRO), Boyina Pandu, allegedly took nude photographs of a woman and raped her after offering a soft drink laced with sedatives.

The woman (30), mother of two children, lodged a complaint with Nandivada police, who registered a case on Saturday.

According to the complainant, Pandu, who is working as Nandivada VRO, engaged the victim four months ago to assist him. One day, she fell unconscious after consuming the soft drink offered by the accused. He allegedly recorded her pictures in nude on his mobile phone and committed the crime.

Complaint lodged

Later, the VRO allegedly threatened the woman to make her obscene photographs public and pestered her to continue the relationship. Vexed with his behaviour, she lodged a complaint with the police, said SI B. Jaya Raju.

A case under Section.376 of IPC (rape) and 506 of IPC (criminal intimidation) has been registered against the accused and investigation is on, said the SI.
