‘Wind up Kempanna commission’

March 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:36 am IST - BENGALURU:

Maintaining that the Justice H.S. Kempanna commission, which is looking into the Arkavathi Layout denotification issue, would not serve any purpose, former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday demanded that it be wound up.

The former Chief Minister said that reports of earlier judicial commissions had not been acted upon by successive governments.

“Instead, the issue should be taken directly before the court,” he said, while addressing a press conference in Bengaluru.

He said that the State government was dilly-dallying over the implementation of the Justice Padmaraj Commission’s report on violation of norms in allocation of ‘G’ category sites by the Bengaluru Development Authority.
