To create Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts if voted to power

TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao promised trifurcation of Mahabubnagar to create Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts after the party assumed power.

Addressing a large election rally at Wanaparthy, Mr. Rao said he would strive to provide irrigation facilities to 14 lakh acres in Mahabubnagar at the rate of one lakh acres for each of the 14 Assembly constituencies in the district which was rich in soil. The migration of people from this district should stop, but it was possible only if political corruption was rooted out, he said.

He added that he would not hesitate to send his son and daughter to jail if they resorted to corrupt practices. The same would be the fate of Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu for his deeds in privatisation of Nizam Sugar Factory. Mr. Naidu sold the stake of government in the factory against the advice of the House Committee of Assembly. The Telangana government will inquire into the matter and see that Mr. Naidu was put behind bars. Mr. Naidu escaped the punishment earlier, but he could not lucky again now, he said.

Mr. Rao also said the TRS will construct a project with a capacity of 100 tmc ft at Laxmidevipalli, a high altitude village which is 53 km away from Jurala. Another project at Gurramgadda where the Krishna split into two streams would also be taken up.

He criticised Telangana Congress Committee president Ponnala Laxmaiah and former Minister D.K. Aruna for supporting the efforts of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy to carry water for Hundri Neeva from Pothireddypadu though the project did not have allocation in Krishna basin. The Congress leaders of Telangana never joined the movement for separate Telangana as they played a subordinate role to their counterparts from Seemandhra, he added.
