Ahead of the proposed all-party meet called by the Centre in New Delhi on December 28, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has categorically said that there was no question of leaving Hyderabad to Telangana.
Speaking at a meeting of the Samaikhya Andhra Joint Action Committee meeting here on Saturday, the MP said that Hyderabad does not belong to any small group of people, but entire Andhra Pradesh as investments were made there by people from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions also to create job opportunities. Ninety-nine percent of the jobs created there were done this way and there was no question of leaving it to Telangana.
“Opportunities should be open for people from all regions and if the people from Telangana threaten even while Hyderabad is in combined Andhra Pradesh, one can imagine the fate of the people from Andhra and Ralayaseema if Telangana was carved out with Hyderabad,” he pointed out. He cited several incidents where even the MLAs were not allowed to hold a meeting and expressed fear that properties of people from other parts of the State will not be secure. The meeting attended by members of Samaikhya Andhra Student JAC leaders from Rajkumar - SVU, Tirupati, Mahesh - AU-Visakhapatnam, Rajendra - JNTU-Kakinada gave a Chalo Delhi call for December 28.
A massive Samaikhya Andhra JAC public meeting is being proposed at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur district on December 28. From December 9 to 28 JAC members will visit villages in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to spread awareness on Samaikhya Andhra it said. Others who attended included JAC Convener Naraharisetti Srihari B. Ashiratnam from Vijayawada.
