Actor and founder of Jana Sena Party (JSP), Pawan Kalyan, on Tuesday promised his continued support to the National Democratic Alliance and expressed confidence that it would keep up its promises made to people.
He was speaking to presspersons in New Delhi after emerging out of the NDA meeting in which he was present.
However, in a lighter vein, he said that if the Alliance appeared to forget some of its promises, he would remind and if no action was taken, he would question the leaders.
“Mr. Modi is not one to go for short term plans and I am sure he has long-term goals for the country and the welfare of the people in mind,” he quipped.
Asked about the JSP’s future plans on the political front, now that its mission was accomplished with the NDA’s rise to power at the Centre and the TDP soon to form the Government in Andhra Pradesh, he said the focus now was on firming up the organisation structure of the JSP.
To a reference about the Congress Party’s rout, Mr. Kalyan said its own policies led to its downfall and when asked about his views on YSRC president Jaganmohan Reddy meeting Mr. Modi in New Delhi, he replied that in a democracy, it was okay. As for himself, he said he had three film commitments that he needed to fulfil in the coming months.
