Water level goes down in Godavari

Water level receding

in Godavari

Water level of the Godavari at Sir Arthur Cotton barrage Dowlaiswaram is receding steadily as inflows from catchment areas of the river falling. Water level of 8.80 feet was recorded at the barrage at Monday evening and 2.70 lakh cusecs of water was being released into the sea. Water level of 23.50 feet was recorded at Bhadrachalam on Monday evening against 28 feet on Sunday evening. Irrigation authorities said that the water level would recede further by Tuesday morning.
