Vizianagaram, Masula to continue as municipalities

Orders issued upgrading Vizianagaram and Machilipatnam municipalities as corporations have not been gazetted/ notified due to administrative reasons and both local bodies continue as municipalities, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana informed the Assembly during Question Hour on Tuesday.

Answering the main question by R.V. Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao (YSRC), he said they would become corporations only after the tenure of the two elected bodies.

He said that elections to Rajam, Nellimarla, Kandukur, and Rajampeta municipalities and seven corporations would be conducted after clearance of court cases and revision of voter lists.
