Endowments Minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao on Friday announced that the department would review the issues involved with VIP darshan at all important temples in the State and reduce the break timings to the maximum possible extent, giving enough time for common devotees.
On the sidelines of attending the felicitation programme organised by BJP Rajahmundry City unit on Friday, the Minister said that the State government would gather the details of all the encroached Endowments lands in the State and initiate action against the encroachers.
He also announced that ‘Nityannadanam’ (free meal) would be provided to all devotees at seven important temples in the State. Mr. Manikyala Rao said that the government would constitute a committee with Peetadhipathis, Arachakas, endowments officials, representatives from different spiritual institutions to review the exiting system pertaining to all types of darshans, queue line, sanitation at temples, basic amenities, nitya deeparadhana (lighting lamp daily in all temples), naivaidyam (prasadam offerings), donations and issues related to temple trust boards.
Liquor policyHe said that during the first Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took very serious note on liquor policy and removal of belt shops. “The State may adopt liquor policy on the lines of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and other States. The government would go for a policy to reduce consumption of liquor by common man,” the Minister said.
