Rajya Sabha Congress member V. Hanumantha Rao on Friday announced that he would undertake a day-long ‘silent protest’ at Gandhi Bhavan demanding ‘brain storming’ session to set right the affairs of the Congress party in the State.

Expressing anguish at the state of affairs in the ruling party, Mr. Hanumantha Rao at a press conference here said cadres were losing faith in the leadership and unless a brain storming session was conducted, the real issues would not come out. “I will sit on protest demonstration at Gandhi Bhavan to highlight the plight of the party. I also want the State Congress Coordination Committee to be expanded to take on board more senior leaders,” he said.

Stating that there was urgent need to revive party fortunes and fulfil the aspirations of the cadres, he demanded that the vacant posts of corporation chief and party executive should be filled up immediately. He took a dig at the ministers committee for not making any mention of the corruption of YSR Congress party Chief Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy. He wondered why senior leaders were not consulted while preparing the report. He said that people were thinking that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was covert of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy.
