Use SHGs to promote energy saving: Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked officials to utilise the services of Self-Help Groups to promote energy saving in both rural and urban areas to realise the targeted goals in energy conservation.

Secretary, Energy, Ajay Jain, , CEO State Energy Conservation Mission, A. Chandrasekhara Reddy and G. Sai Prasad, secretary to Chief Minister presented to Mr. Naidu a cheque for Rs.50 lakh received from Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Government of India for creating awareness on energy efficiency and energy conservation. The officials told the Chief Minister that energy saving to the tune of Rs.90 crore per annum was possible in Guntur and Anantapur districts alone.
