Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should keep up his promise to set up an Urdu university in Kadapa, YSR Congress leaders said on Friday. Kadapa Mayor K. Suresh Babu, MLA S.B. Amzath Basha and YSR Congress district president A. Amarnatha Reddy visited the Urdu University Action Committee relay fast camp at the Collectorate and extended support to it.

Action Committee Chairman S. Salauddin resented Mr. Chnadrababu Naidu’s plans to set up the Urdu university in Kurnool district , after initially promising to set it up in Kadapa district, and alleged that it would lead to an inter-district conflict. Muslim minorities, students and others who particpated urged the Telugu Desam Party leaders to persuade the State government to set up an Urdu university in Kadapa.
