Has the political future of Medak Lok Sabha member and TRS leader M. Vijayashanti become uncertain? This is the feeling in political circles given the prevailing situation.
TRS sources say Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao is particular on contesting from Medak and has almost zeroed in on the seat. The leadership is reportedly trying to convince Ms. Vijayashanti to contest from Secunderabad. However, Ms. Vijayashanti reportedly urged the leadership that she be fielded from Zaheerabad if she could not be accommodated in Medak.
Making her intentions clear, the firebrand leader said at a programme in the Gajwel Assembly constituency on Monday that she would contest from Medak if the ‘blessings of God’ were with her.
On the other hand, the name of G. Devi Prasada Rao, president of the Telangana Non Gazetted Officers’ Association (TNGOs) began making the rounds and it was stated he would be fielded from Medak as the statehood sentiment is strong in the Assembly constituencies that form part of the constituency. According to sources, the JAC leadership has decided to approach the TRS leadership in this regard.
“Mr. Devi Prasad, a native of Allipur in Chinnakodur mandal of the Siddipet Assembly constituency, has time and again made it clear at the TJAC meetings that he is not averse to entering politics if it helps in achieving the goal, ” a TJAC leader said on condition of anonymity.
