The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials recovered Rs.1.12 lakh of unaccounted money during a search in the office of the Sub-Registrar at Vuyyuru in Krishna district on Thursday.

The money was found in the possession of ten private documentators and employees who were engaged by the office, an ACB release said.

It added that the check was conducted on information that the Sub-Registrar and staff of the office resorted to collection of bribes from visitors requesting services of private persons and agents for registration of documents. Another release said the village revenue officer of Kanagarthi in Odela mandal of Karimnagar district, Bogi Shankaraiah, was caught red-handed by ACB officials when he took a bribe of Rs.4,000 from a person for issuing pattadar passbook and title deed.
