Two students killed as bike rams lorry

Two MBA final year students were killed when their motorcycle rammed a stationary lorry near Ekopalle in Duvvur mandal in Kadapa district on Thursday.

Praveen, 22, and Nabi Rasool, 23, studying in Chadalawada Ramanamma College at Tirupati, were proceeding to their houses in Kurnool for Ugadi when the accident took place, the police said.

Praveen died on the spot while Nabi Rasool succumbed to head injuries at the Government hospital at Proddatur, police said. The Duvvur police have registered a case.

Labourer dies of sunstroke

A labourer Chandra, 30, died of sunstroke at Pathikonda in Kurnool district on Thursday.

Chandra, who worked in an agricultural field, fell sick on returning home on Wednesday evening and died during treatment in the Government hospital at Pathikonda on Thursday. He is survived by wife and two children.
