A high-level committee from the Department of Information Technology and Communication (IT&C) will be arriving in Tirupati on a three-day tour to finalise the site for the recently-sanctioned Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Tirupati.
The panel comprising Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) director P. Venugopal, deputy director (Tirupati) K. Rajasekharam, IT&C joint directors K. Nikhila (Promotions), P. Pratap (Tirupati) and IT consultant T.S. Murthy will be here for a ground-level study.
The two sites identified for the ambitious project are Thatiguntapalli on the Kalikiri-Vayalpadu highway in Piler constituency and the Yerpedu-Mannavaram stretch leading to NTPC-BHEL Power Project in Srikalahasti constituency.
Interaction with officials
Along with Madanapalle Sub-Collector Hari Kiran and Piler Area Development Authority (PADA) special officer I. Venkateswara Reddy, the panel will visit the first site on Thursday, while Revenue Divisional Officer (Tirupati) Y.Ramachandra Reddy will accompany the members to the second site on Friday. The panel will get first-hand information from the local tahsildars and officials from irrigation, electricity, rural water supply, roads and buildings, pollution control board and APSRTC. After wide-ranging consultations at the STPI here on Saturday, the panel will submit its report to the Government, based on which the site to locate the ITIR will be finalised.
