Two Madurai girls held for stealing gold

A three-member gang, including two girls from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, in their early twenties, entered a jewellery shop in the Narayanavanam mandal headquarters near Puttur on Sunday morning, in the guise of customers and decamped with 60 gram of gold ornaments.

The girls were caught after a chase, while their male accomplice managed to escape. Immediately after the gang left the shop, workers in the outlet came to know of the theft. Soon, they scanned the CCTV camera footage and identified the culprits.

Some of workers rushed to the localities nearby and searched for the gang members.

Finally, they apprehended two girls, when they were about to board a bus to Chennai.

The girls were handed over to Puttur Police.A case has been registered.
