Two killed in road accidents

One person was killed on the spot and four others seriously injured when the SUV by which they were travelling hit a lorry from behind at Gadhanki in Pakala mandal, 40 km from here, in the early hours of Wednesday.

A family of five from Pedakurapadu of Guntur district were on their way to Tirupati after attending a function of relatives in Chittoor. Around 3 a.m., the SUV rammed a lorry from behind.

The deceased was identified as Narasimhulu (45). Four others, including his spouse and daughter, who received severe injuries were rushed to Tirupati hospital. The Pakala police registered a case.

Motorbike hits tractor

In another accident, a 25-year-old youth from Kolar in Karnataka was killed on the spot when the motorbike he was riding hit a stationary tractor on NH-234 at V. Kota mandal headquarters on Wednesday morning. The police said that the youth coming from Nayakaneri in high speed. A case was registered.
