April 25, 2014 10:21 am | Updated May 21, 2016 01:19 pm IST - MARKAPUR:

Two persons were killed when a goods train rammed into an autorickshaw at an unmanned level crossing near Rayavaram close to Markapur town in Prakasam district on Friday.

The driver of the autorickshaw apparently failed to notice the approaching train as the level crossing was in the midst of lush green fields, railway and police sources said.

The victims, both farm workers from Naidupalli and Ummareddipalli were going for wage employment under the MG-NREGS scheme when the mishap occurred. Further details are awaited.
