Two killed, 25 injured as lorry rams tractor

Two persons were killed and 25 others were injured when a lorry rammed a tractor at Bhatnavilli village in the wee hours of Monday. The condition of two of the injured was said to be critical.

According to the police, a metal-laden lorry hit the tractor in which the group was coming to Sri Venakteswara Swamy temple here. They were residents of Chappidivaripalem village in Mummidivaram mandal.

Under the impact of the accident the tractor plunged into an agricultural canal and its front portion was completely damaged. An engineering student identified as D. Siva (21) and mother of the bridegroom Chappidi Kumari were killed on the spot. The injured were being treated at KIMS Hospital.
