Two die, 29 injured in separate road accidents

Two persons died and 29 suffered injuries in three separate road accidents in the district on Wednesday.

A Toyota Qualis from the Bellary district of Karnataka on its way to Kolar via Anantapur collided with a Bellary bound APSRTC bus on the outskirts of the Kudair mandal headquarters. Two people died while three were injured. The accident occurred around 8:30 am.

While all the five were shifted to the government hospital at Kadiri mandal hesdquarters, two persons - Khaja Basha and Hussain - died undergoing treatment.

In another accident, a school bus of the Gnaneswari school overturned as the driver tried to negotiate a vehicle coming in the opposite direction at a curve near the Vanavolu village of the Gorantla mandal, injuring five schoolchildren and the driver of the bus. In yet another accident at Vidapanakal mandal headuquarters, 20 people were injured when a Tata Ace overturned trying to evade an oncoming motorcycle.
