Two accused in rape case get life imprisonment

The Sessions Court here on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to two rape accused.

According to reports, the accused Matti Ravi and Srinivasulu abducted a woman hailing from Bengaluru and allegedly raped her at Tadikanapalli Crossroads falling under Ulindakonda police station limits on July 17, 2013. The police arrested the duo last year.

The woman, who was in the town to meet a friend, had hired an autorickshaw to reach the town railway station and on the way she was abducted and raped.

Police sources said that the accused were also involved in two other rape and three attempt to rape cases.

Released on bail, the accused indulged in the offences which included theft and dacoity.

The court chaired by Sessions Judge Venkata Jyothirmayi considered the offences as extraordinary and awarded the punishment.
