The Telangana committee of Telugu Desam Party is confident that the party will be a major contender for power in Telangana region.
While the Telangana TDP is upbeat, A.P. Backward Classes Welfare Association president R. Krishnaiah is likely to join the TDP on Friday. Mr. Krishnaiah’s name has been tipped for heading the party’s campaign committee in Telangana.
Telangana TDP leaders claimed that while the party’s graph is on the rise, the popularity of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been witnessing a steep drop. Mr. Rao tried to hoodwink the people with claims like making a Dalit the Chief Minister of Telangana, but people have realised that these promises would never be honoured as Mr. Rao has been working only to serve his family’s interests, the leaders alleged.
TDP Telangana panel members L. Ramana, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Motkupalli Narasimhulu said the TRS chief has no effective plans for accelerated development of Telangana. They said the TDP alone has the capacity to rebuild Telangana.
The TDP Telangana panel, at its first meeting here on Thursday, decided to appoint a committee of experts to suggest measures to develop the region. The recommendations made by the committee would be discussed with TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and appropriately be included in the party manifesto. The party has also been focussing on evolving ways to effectively reach out to the people explaining TDP’s contribution to the formation of Telangana.
