On Vaikunta Ekadasi, chaos reigned supreme at the abode of Lord Venkateswara
A Division Bench of A.P. High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sen Gupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar on Monday asked the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to submit the details of the passes issued on Vaikunta Ekadasi and the relevant proceedings like the resolutions of the board.
The Bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by TDP leader Talasani Srinivasa Yadav complaining that the TTD had issued thousands of passes in the name of VIP and VVIP and created chaos near the abode of the Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Vaikuntha Ekadasi day.
He levelled serious allegations and asked for an independent probe. The Bench wanted to know how the TTD had categorised the VIP and VVIPs and asked for resolution in this regard. It also asked the TTD to submit the list of the persons to whom the passes were issued and whether the board passed any resolution in this regard.
The Bench asked the petitioner to bear the expenditure for giving newspaper advertisements in States of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in prominent newspapers informing the devotees about this case so that the persons who suffered on that day in Tirumala can come to the court. The case was adjourned by three weeks.
