Possibilities are being explored for utilising the services of Srivari Seva volunteers in the accommodation sector at Tirumala.

Devotees who are provided with accommodations in far-flung areas such as ANC and GNC have difficulties while vacating their cottages.

To overcome the problem, the management has resolved to utilise the services of the volunteers on an experimental basis from next week.

Briefing the media after review meeting with senior officials, TTD JEO K.S. Srinivasa Raju said a committee had been formed to discuss the issue of extracting qualitative services from the volunteers. All the user departments have been asked to submit a detailed report with regard to the exact requirement of volunteers in their respective areas.

While the town registers an average crowd for 200 to 250 days in a year, it experiences heavy crowd for more than 100 days besides abnormal footfalls during certain annual festivals.

The committee will take all the facts and figures into consideration before it arrives at a final conclusion with regard to the actual requirement of the volunteers on different occasions.

Laddu production

Another committee with senior officials has also been formed to study the prospects of further improving the quality of the laddus and submit its recommendations.

The recent modifications effected inside the temple kitchen (potu) has enhanced the production of laddus by 30,000 to 50,000 a day.
