TTD to observe 2015 as ‘Year of Gosamrakshana’

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to observe the year 2015 as the ‘Year of Gosamrakshana’ and reiterated its commitment to bringing back the past glory to cow population, especially the indigenous cows.

At a review meeting held at the SVETA Bhavan recently, the temple management said that it would observe ‘Managudi – Gopuja’ across 260 Goshalas located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This special event would be dedicated to the worship of ‘Gomata’ on the occasion of Kanuma festival, to be celebrated on January 16. The officials said that the dairy farmer who performs the best ‘Gopuja’ would be presented with Rs.10,000 (State-level) and Rs. 5,000 (district-level). They directed the officials to enlighten the dairy farmers about the importance of cow worship and the ‘Pancha Gavya’ products.
