Adopting a firm stance, the TTD board of trustees on Tuesday resolved to file a defamation suit against former head priest AV Ramana Dikshitulu for his ‘derogatory’ remarks against the temple administration.

Briefing the media jointly, TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav and Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal said the TTD’s law officer and other legal experts had been directed to work out the modalities for filing the case.

The legal team is expected to give their suggestions in a day or two.

The experts shall also take cognisance of the news stories carried in various print and electronic media and explore the possibilities of naming others (who had also levelled allegations) in the case.

According to highly placed sources, the board also discussed countering BJP MP Subramanian Swamy should he file a petition.

The board also resolved to take the advice of the Agama pundits for public display of the ornaments of the presiding deity.

‘Ornaments safe’

Maintaining that all the ornaments are safe and intact, Mr. Singhal also refuted the charges of carrying out any kind of digging work inside the temple kitchen. Only repair work was taken up. “These things had been categorically clarified on various platforms and hence I believe there should not be any doubts,” he said.
