TTD suspends issue of ‘Divya darsan’ tokens

December 30, 2014 12:47 am | Updated 12:47 am IST - TIRUMALA:

The TTD has resolved to stop issue of ‘Divya darsan’ tokens for pilgrims reaching the sacred town on foot from Monday mid-night.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to facilitate hassle-free darsan of the presiding deity Lord Venkateswara with the management expecting a heavy turnout in the pilgrim crowd for the New Year Day which also concurs with the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi festival. The administration has dispensed with all other types of darsans, including those to senior citizens as well as parents with infants.

However, the ‘Divya darsan’ tokens will be provided from January 4.
