Elaborate arrangements are being made for the Tumburu Theertha Mukkoti slated on March 31.
The sacred Tumburu Theertham is located in the midst of the thick Tirumala forests about seven kilometres from the town. Devotees from different parts of the State trek the tedious jungle path to take a holy dip in the sacred pond on the auspicious Mukkoti day.
With the vast sentiments attached to the festival, the TTD has geared up for meeting the requirements of the devotees. Free food counters have been set up at the Papavinasanam dam – the gateway to the holy theertham.
To meet medical emergencies, a first-aid clinic is being set up at the dam site; an ambulance has also been arranged.
Briefing media on Saturday, TTD JEO KS Srinivasa Raju said the devotees would be allowed to trek towards the theertham only from March 30 and that carrying match boxes or cooking utensils would not be allowed.
Armed reserve police and Health, Vigilance and Forest personnel will be deployed all along the forest route.
