The State Government’s announcement of a new panel for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board might be considered in the local circles as ‘much delayed’, but it could not have been timed better for its chairperson Chadalawada Krishnamurthy, as it came just as a birthday bonanza for him.
Mr. Krishnamurthy celebrated his birthday on Friday, while he is all set to be sworn in on Saturday as the Chairperson of the trust board, at a simple ceremony on the Venkateswara temple premises.
The official residence of the former MLA in the posh Padmavathipuram locality of the city was abuzz with activity on Friday. The visitors at his doorstep included TTD employees, Government officials, TDP activists, his personal followers and well-wishers arrived in hundreds with bouquets, garlands, fruits, Tirumala laddus and the sacred ‘akshintalu’ to greet him on his birthday as well as extend wishes on his nomination to the coveted post.
Speaking to the media persons later, he called ‘amenities at affordable cost to the pilgrims’ as his top priority. While thanking the State Government and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for reposing faith in him, Mr. Krishnamurthy spoke on the need for certain reformative steps to restore the pristine glory of the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara.
