TTD makes changesin darshan systemfor local people

In an effort to enable more number of locals for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has come up with certain changes in the darshan system, effective this December.

Since February, TTD has been issuing 500 tickets at CRO at Tirumala and 4,500 bio-metric tickets through the e-Darshan counter at Mahati Auditorium at Tirupati, justifying the long-pending demand of local people. The darshan, in this regard, is arranged on the first Tuesday of every month.

However, with majority of local people opting for repetitive darshans, TTD has made some amendments in the current system to enable others. A person can avail darshan only four times a year.

Individuals who already had darshan in September, October and November will not be issued tokens for this month and will have to await their turn for the next three months, as per the availability of the quota. A person will get an opportunity to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara, four times in a year.

TTD’s management appealed to people to make a note of these changes and extend their cooperation.
