The Tirumal Tirupati Devasthanam ( TTD )s Executive officer L.V. Subramanyam on Friday said that the management was mulling over the proposal of displaying antique jewels of Lord Venkateswara at its museum at Tirumala.
Answering a caller, K. Venkataramana from Hyderabad, during the Dial TTD EO programme, Subramanyam said that there was predominant risk in moving ahead with the proposal which was still in the discussion stage. Even though the proposal of displaying unused jewels in the museum for the benefit of visiting devotees sounds commendable, the high risk security aspect cannot be ignored, he said.
In the same vein he said that the management was equally concerned about digitalising all the jewels of the presiding deity for which it had already obtained required tips from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
In reply to another question, he said that the management had already invited applications from all interested candidates desirous of playing a pro-active role in the promotional activities being taken up by the TTDs Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad. Training classes for all enrolled candidates will also be conducted at SVETA institute at Tirupati.
Minor changes
Later, talking to media persons, he said that the management was also contemplating bringing in minor changes in the daily processions of the Lord during the ensuing Navaratri Brahmotsavams (scheduled to commence from the 15th of this month) particularly on the eve of the Garuda seva besides setting up giant -size digital screens at several identified points around the mada streets, encircling the sacred shrine for the convenience of devotees.
