Balayya and Nag chosen best actors for 2011 and 2012, while Tamanna and Anushka adjudged best heroines
Nandamuri Balakrishna for the film ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ and Akkineni Nagarjuna (Shirdi Sai) were chosen best actors for 2011 and 2012 in the TSR National Film Awards, while Tamanna (100% Love) and Anushka (Damarukam) were adjudged best heroines.
‘Dookudu’ got for director Srinu Vaitla (2011) what ‘Businessman’ gave Puri Jagannath (2012), with both of them being adjudged best directors, while the best actress award for the two years went to Tapsee (Mogudu) and Samantha (Eega), respectively.
These were announced at a press conference here on Thursday by jury chairman T. Subbarami Reddy, after whom the awards are named. They will be given away at a star-studded function to be held at the Shilpa Kala Vedika on April 20.
Other jury members are thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao, C. Narayana Reddy, D. Rama Naidu, P. Suseela, Jayasudha and Shobana Kamineni.
Special jury awards for the year 2011 were announced for ‘Rajanna’, the film produced by Nagarjuna, apart from actress Sneha and child artiste Baby Annie. For 2012, special jury awards will be given to Manchu Vishnu (Denikaina Ready), Nitin (Ishq), Tanikella Bharani (Midhunam), Khadir Babu (Onamalu) and for Maddali Venkateswara Rao’s ‘Chaduvukovali’, a children’s film.
For 2012, Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to ‘rebel’ star U.V. Krishnam Raju and veteran Kaikala Satyanarayana, while M. Mohan Babu was named ‘Best Actor of the Millennium’ and Rajendra Prasad got the ‘Universal Performance Actor’ Award. K. Raghavendra Rao was named ‘Star Director of the Millennium’ and ‘Dil’ Raju best producer. The names were finalised on the basis of a poll, said Mr. Reddy.
