Students appearing for Andhra Pradesh Engineering and Medicine Common Entrance Test (APEamcet) from Hyderabad and other Telangana districts can take the exam from Hyderabad with the Telangana government conceding the request of AP government to set up 30 to 40 exam centres in the city.
AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here on Saturday that he had sought the cooperation of Telangana government in setting up exam centres and it gave its approval on Saturday morning.
He said the students could choose their exam centre from Saturday evening through online.
About 30,000 AP students from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana are expected to choose exam centres in Hyderabad instead of travelling all the way to Andhra Pradesh to write the entrance test on May 8.
Staff Reporter from Kakinada writes: Following instructions from the AP State Council of Higher Education, the government is arranging test centres for the APEamcet in Hyderabad too.
Convener of the APEamcet Ch. Sai Babu said here Hyderabad had been divided into three zones and the students could choose the centre of their convenience through the online optioning system.
He said Kukatpally and surrounding areas such as Pragati Nagarm Nizampet, Bachupally, Chanda Nagar, BHEL and Patancheru would come under Zone-A, while Qutubullapur and surrounding areas such as Bowrampet, Kandlakoya, Jeedimetla, Gandimaisamma, Gundla Pochampally and Dundigal would come under Zone-B. Musheerabad and surrounding areas like Gagan Mahal, Narayanaguda, Basheerbagh, Barkatpura, Chikkadapally, Himayatnagar, Hanuman Tekdi would come under Zone-C.
