Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is suspecting that legislators of the ruling Congress, Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress from Seemandhra regions are planning to obstruct the functioning of the Assembly during the ongoing winter session so that the draft Bill on the State’s bifurcation is not debated.
‘Parties are strategising’“Their ploy is not to allow proper functioning of the house so that the draft Bill is not discussed and later, seek more time from the President to debate the bill as part of their strategy to delay the process of formation of Telangana as long as they can,” TRS MLA K.T. Rama Rao told reporters.
He alleged that their demand for adopting a resolution in support of keeping the State united including their notices seeking permission to the adjournment motions that they moved was also part of their strategy.
“However, nobody can stop the Assembly if it discusses the Bill in six days instead of six weeks time given by the President and sends it back to him,” the TRS leader said.
ResolutionThe Seemandhra leaders’ opposition to Telangana was evident in their every move in spite of their leadership’s support for statehood at one point of time as they did not allow the House to adopt a resolution in favour of Telangana for four years as demanded by the TRS.
But, it is their turn now to make a similar demand for united Andhra Pradesh, he said.
