TRS poser to Congress on Telangana decision

December 24, 2013 02:14 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:09 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The TRS has asked the Congress to clarify to people whether the latter has cleared statehood to Telangana respecting people’s decades-long struggle or for merger of TRS with it.

The poser from TRS comes in the wake of Congress MP V. Hanumantha Rao’s demand for merger of TRS with the Congress. Several TDP leaders from Telangana have also been demanding the same by accusing TRS president K. Chandrasekhar of becoming a hurdle in statehood to the region by delaying his party’s merger with the ruling party.

TRS legislator E. Ravinder Reddy reiterated that the issue of merger would come up only after formation of Telangana with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its capital without any restrictions.
