TRS MLAs meet Governor regarding medical seats

July 08, 2012 01:26 am | Updated 01:26 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A delegation of the TRS legislature party on Saturday called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to complain about the injustice meted to students from the region in the allocation of additional MBBS seats.

The delegation impressed on Mr. Narasimhan that Osmania, Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Colleges in Telangana had not got a single additional seat though 150 seats had been sanctioned by the Medical Council of India recently to the government sector. All of them had instead gone to government colleges in coastal and Rayalaseema districts. The situation was the result of negligence by the State government, the leaders told Mr. Narasimhan. They sought an inquiry into the goof up and punishment for persons responsible for it.

The delegation included T. Harish Rao, P. Srinivas Reddy, K. Eashwar, Ch. Ramesh, G. Goverdhan, Jogu Ramanna, S. Satyanarayana, Y. Ravinder Reddy, N. Odelu and D. Vinay Bhaskar.
